Henry Guppy (librarian)

Henry Guppy CBE (31 December 1861–4 August 1948) was Librarian of the John Rylands Library in Manchester from 1899 until his death in 1948.

Guppy was born in London and educated at City of London School. Before moving to the John Rylands he was Sub-Librarian of Sion College. He was created Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1937.
