SlimeCon was the first official cast reunion and fan convention held in 2002 to celebrate the 1980s kids TV show "You Can't Do That on Television". Held at the studios of CJOH-TV in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the three-day convention featured discussion forums, contests, episode showings, and appearances/participation by over 25 cast members from the show.

Organized by fans Byron Smith and Emily Reichbach, and former "YCDTOTV" audio man Jim Clarke, the event was promoted as a combination fan convention and cast reunion. SlimeCon was a very successfulFact|date=June 2007 event and drew attendees from across the United States and Canada to the very studios where "YCDTOTV" was created, taped and edited.

In 2004, original SlimeCon staff member Josh Yawn organized a new version of SlimeCon for the 25th anniversary of "YCDTOTV" with the assistance of both Clarke and Smith. While many of the events that made the original SlimeCon successfulFact|date=June 2007 were repeated, the highlight of the convention was the release of Project 131, the official final episode of "You Can't Do That on Television". Highly-anticipated by "YCDTOTV"'s fans, the completed Project 131 was shown twice at the end of SlimeCon 2004, never to be shown again. However, Nickelodeon was interested in acquiring the program for a bonusFact|date=June 2007 feature on the now-defunct first season DVD set of "You Can't Do That on Television". Today, a copy of Project 131 resides with the master tapes of "You Can't Do That on Television" at CJOH-TV in Ottawa. As of January 2007, it is viewable on YouTube. After the completion of SlimeCon 2004, convention organizers and CJOH staff member Jim Clarke officially closed the doors of Studio D (where "YCDTOTV" was taped) forever. Due to tax liability issues, the studio is considered permanently closed and will not be used or viewed by "You Can't Do That on Television" fans again.

Two DVDs, containing convention interviews and archival footage from both the original SlimeCon and SlimeCon 2004, were released in 2005 but are no longer available to be purchased.

In January 2008, it was announced at a possible third SlimeCon could take place in 2009. Fans are asked to log on to www.slimecon2009.com and www.myspace.com/slimecon to express their interest in the event.
