Previously Campbell was the president and CEO of
NACME, Inc. , a non-profit corporation focused on engineering education and science and technology policy. Additionally he spent twelve years atAT&T Bell Laboratories, served as a U.S. delegate to the International Telecommunications Union, served on the faculties of Nkumbi International College--a secondary preparatory school inZambia , andSyracuse University , and published a number of academic papers. He is co-editor of Access Denied: Race, Ethnicity and the Scientific Enterprise,Oxford University Press ISBN 0-19-510774-8.Campbell currently serves on the Board of Directors of
Consolidated Edison, Inc . He is also on the Board of Trustees of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (cIcu), a Trustee ofRensselaer Polytechnic Institute , Montefiore Medical Center, the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation and the New York Hall of Science.Personal life
