Dubai Ladies Masters

Dubai Ladies Masters

The Dubai Ladies Masters is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour (LET) that was played for the first time in October 2006. Its prize fund of 500,000 in 2006 put it in the leading group of LET events outside of the two co-sanctioned by the LPGA Tour (the Women's British Open and the Evian Masters). It was on the Majlis course at the Emirates Golf Club, which also hosts the Dubai Desert Classic on the men's European Tour.

Annika Sörenstam has won the event both times it has been played. Sörenstam beat out Karrie Webb in 2006, and in 2007 defeated Iben Tinning by two shots after Sörenstam birdied 17 and Tinning double-bogeyed the 18th. Sörenstam announced her retirement, effective with the end of the 2008 season, on May 13, 2008, and also added that the 2008 edition of this tournament will be the last of her career.
