- Ariel Bercovich
Ariel Bercovich (Born March 24, 1976). Israeli Poet, Journalist, Musician. His work deals with Israeli reality through the point of view of an outsider. Bercovich also hosts the popular radio show "Around the time in 80 worlds".
Life
He was born in
Buenos Aires ,Argentine , in march 24th, 1976. Is childhood was marked by the "Junta" military dictatorship. In 1995 he and his family moved toIsrael . During the military service in theIsraeli Defence Forces , started writing poetry. He graduated from the Cinema & Television department atTel Aviv University and is doing his M.A. in Latin America History. Bercovich has composed and edited soundtracks for award-winning international films. He writes articles on culture and society for various Israeli and Argentinian newspapers.Work
In 2004 he published
Einshem ("No name", in Hebrew), a collection of 30 poems. The poems, most of them written during Bercovich military service, depict Israeli reality in a minimalistic and introversive style. Prof. Lily Ratok described Bercovich poems as "Still life poems, that bring beauty to everything he touches".Einshem book won the "Irit Katzir" poetry prize, given by the former president of Israel,Efraim Katzir . Today he works in the national radio stationGalei Zahal as editor in chief of the radio show "Haolam Bli", ("The world without"), along with Ariel Rabin. Since 2004 theaches radio at "Koteret" journalism school of theTel Aviv University .Bibliography
