Voorhees College is a
college inVellore ,Tamil Nadu ,India . It was founded in 1898 as Arcot Mission College, when Arcot Mission High School was amalgamated to theUniversity of Madras . The college is named after its benefactors, Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Voorhees of theReformed Church in America . The college began offering master's level courses in 1975. The chairman of the college is the Bishop of Vellore, and the motto is "In Vain without God."The college is affiliated to
Thiruvalluvar University ,Vellore and it is accredited by theNational Assessment and Accreditation Council , with an A grade (2005).Alumni of the college include the former
