Theatre Square ( _ru. Театральная Площадь, "Teatralnaya Ploschad"), known as "Sverdlov Square" between 1919 and 1991, is a
city square within theKitay-Gorod administrative district ofMoscow ,Russia . It's located at the junction ofKuznetsky Bridge Street ,Petrovka Street ,Theatre Drive andPloshchad Revolyutsii .The square is named after the three theatres situated there —
Bolshoi Theatre , Maly Theatre, andRussian Youth Theatre . The square is popular among tourists, as the Bolshoi is. The square is served by theTeatralnaya Moscow metro station on theZamoskvoretskaya Line . From this station it is possible to transfer toOkhotniy Ryad on theSokolnicheskaya Line and Ploshchad Revolyutsii on theArbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line .Other buildings on the square include the TsUM (ЦУМ), a large
