Chemapol Trophy Czech Open was a European Tour golf tournament which was held annually in the Czech Republic from 1994 to 1997. It was the first European Tour event staged east of the former Iron Curtain after the fall of the Berlin Wall. However this aspect of the European Tour's expansion efforts proved to be largely abortive. This particular event only lasted four years, and the tour has refocused its expansion efforts on Africa, Australasia, and most notably Asia. German former World Number 1 Bernhard Langer was much the most distinguished of the four champions. In 1997 the prize fund was £804,788, which was above average for a European Tour event at that time.
