Originally founded by Suraj Kika and Richard Chamberlain in 1999, the system was first developed for the
Department of Trade and Industry for the UK consultation portal for Oil and Gas and Renewable Energy. TheStrategic Environmental Assessment was the UK's first fully online Government consultation process. MS Word andPDF formats.In 2001 the system was redeveloped in
PHP andMySQL and a Version 2 was deployed for UK Government and Local Authorities. Based on thee-GIF standards, and usingXForms , the system was deployed at the beginning of the first acceptance and adoption ofOpen Source platforms within Government. The Jadu system supports theIntegrated Public Sector Vocabulary (IPSV)controlled vocabulary ortaxonomy and is itself an XML taxonomy based CMS.Products
Jadu CMS
Jadu CMS is a comprehensive suite of non technical web based content management application covering - Publishing, Search, Productivity and Workflow, HR, ePayments, Retail store management, eBilling and eForms. These applications are scalable and can be utilised by large and small organisations.
Although Jadu Content Management itself is a proprietary system, its architecture is cross platform and runs in many operating environments such as Windows,
Linux , Solaris andMac OS X . The company recently launched a .NET compliant version of the Jadu CMS supporting IIS, MS SQL and the .NET 2.0 framework using thePhalanger (compiler) which compiles PHP to CLR. Jadu are currently supporting the development of Phalanger, including leading the development of VisualStudio.NET support as well as a host of other upgrades to make .NET support for PHP tighter.Jadu as a company have a cross platform approach, preferring to develop its software to be agnostic in terms of operating platform and development framework.
Jadu Rupa (Enterprise Search)
In 2005, Jadu joined Google Inc. as a GEP partner and successfully delivered over 20
Google Search Appliance systems into UK Government organisations.
