- Sauropodus
"Sauropodus" is the informal name given to an as yet undescribed
genus ofdinosaur from the LateCretaceous . It was asauropod which lived in what is nowArgentina . Thetype species was informally announced in2001 , but has not yet been formalized.Argentine paleontologist Edith Simon told reporters the animal was "30 yards long and weighed about 70 tons". The fossils, which were found beneath the town ofVilla el Chocon inNeuquen province, consist of segments ofvertebra e along with ribs and limb bones.References
