Sauropodus

Sauropodus

"Sauropodus" is the informal name given to an as yet undescribed genus of dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous. It was a sauropod which lived in what is now Argentina. The type species was informally announced in 2001, but has not yet been formalized. Argentine paleontologist Edith Simon told reporters the animal was "30 yards long and weighed about 70 tons". The fossils, which were found beneath the town of Villa el Chocon in Neuquen province, consist of segments of vertebrae along with ribs and limb bones.
