The Association of University Staff of New Zealand (AUS) is a national trade union in New Zealand. It represents 6500 workers employed in New Zealand Universities.
The AUS was formed July 1, 1991 in a merger between the Association of University Teachers of New Zealand (AUTNZ) and the New Zealand University Technicians Union (NZUTU).
Association of Staff in Tertiary Education (ASTE) & Association of University Staff (AUS) have elected to amalgamate to become New Zealand Tertiary Education Union (NZTEU) effective 1 January 2009
The AUS is a member of the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, as well as Education International.
