Faze (real name Chibuzor Orji) is a Nigerian musician and was a member of Nigerian hip hop group Plantashun Boyz (other members Black Face and Tu Face). The group split up in 2004 and each member of the group has gone on to launch successful solo careers.

Faze's First album 'Faze Alone' has gone on to score over one million copies and his second 'Independent' distributed over one million copies before the release date for the album. Till date it has scored over 2 million copies making it one of the most successful albums of 2007. He has got lots of awards and nominations.

Faze versus 2Face beef

The beef began after the split up of the Plantashun Boyz. 2Face released a single 'Holy Pass' which sparked off critics that he might have pioneered the break of the group due to disloyalty. Faze went on to reply 2Face in his lead single for his debut album 'Faze alone'. The single made clear to the public that a beef was building up. The beef lasted till 2006 after they both released their second albums. 2Face went on to release the single 'see me so' while Faze replied with 'Letter to my brother' a song that stunts 2face the more due to its mild and friendly approach to his diss. The single is today seen as one of the reasons why the group Planteshun boiz had to re-unite because Faze rose to fame as 2Face.The beef can still be noticed while listening to radio stations who would frequently play a Faze song after a 2Face song. So far, the beef has been squashed and though fans from both sides claim defeat more agree to the fact that Faze won after all.

He is popular throughout Africa and the West African diaspora, specifically in the United Kingdom and the United States. He is under negociations for a deal with senegalese singer Akon's Konvict Music. He recently on the 8th of October, 2008 released a new album titled 'Orginality'.
