Isy Suttie

Isobel "Isy" Suttie (born August 11, 1978) is a stand-up comic, writer and actor. She was born in Hull, raised in Matlock, Derbyshire, England and trained as an actor at the Guildford School of Acting receiving her First Class B.A. (Hons) in 2000 and representing GSA in the BBC Carleton Hobbs radio awards.

Suttie performs live comedy both as herself and as a number of singing characters, including angsty U.S. singer-songwriter Mary Westenberger and Yvonne, Amy Winehouse's cousin. She is a regular at Robin Ince's Book Club and on the national comedy circuit. BBC Radio writing and performing work includes "The Mitch Benn Music Show", "TILT" BBC7; "Out to Lunch" BBC Radio 2; "The Milk Run", "The Ali Mac Music Show" BBC Radio 1; "The Now Show", "The Alternative Women's Institute", "Four on the Floor", "Danny Robins Music Therapy" and "Laurence & Gus: Hearts & Minds" BBC Radio 4. She is on the writing team of Channel 4's Skins Series 3 (currently in production).

At the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe Festival Suttie was one of the acts in stand-up showcase The Comedy Zone and in 2006 she acted in Danielle Ward's "Take-a-Break Tales" at the Pleasance with Neil Edmond and Emma Fryer. In 2007 she performed her debut solo stand-up show, "Love Lost in the British Retail Industry", and in 2008 her second solo show "The Suttie Show".

An accomplished musician, Suttie composed and musically directed an a capella score for "Marat/Sade" at the Arcola Theatre, London in 2001.

Awards include the Daily Telegraph Young Jazz Competition regional winner, the Julian Slade Songwriting Competition winner and Chortle Awards best newcomer nominee.

TV credits include Mary Westenberger and Domy in "Comedy Cuts" ITV, Marie Antoinette, Lovely Lizzie, Jenny Dipp and Da Queen of Peckham on the CBBC Channel, Mary Shelley in "The Trouble With Love" (BBC2), Kelly in "Cornershop" (BBC North), TV Researcher in "Love Soup" (BBC1) and the recurring character Dobby in series 5 of "Peep Show" (Channel 4).

She has also made appearances in a few of the Domino's Pizza adverts featuring on Sky One.
