Josiah Bartlett Jr.

:"For the television character on "The West Wing", see Josiah Bartlet."

Josiah Bartlett, Jr. (August 29, 1768 - April 16, 1838) was the son of Josiah Bartlett and a Democratic-Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from the state of New Hampshire.

Josiah was born to Josiah and Mary Bartlett in Kingston. He followed his father as both a physician and political leader. After graduating from Exeter Academy he studied medicine and started a practice in Stratham. He served in the State Senate from 1809 to 1810 and served as a Democratic-Republican in the United States House of Representatives from March 4, 1811 to March 3, 1813.

Following his Congressional service, Bartlett resumed the practice of medicine and was elected (again) to the State Senate. He served as a Presidential Elector in the 1824 election, supporting John Quincy Adams.

Bartlett continued the practice of medicine and died in Stratham in 1838.
