- International Group
The International Group was the name taken by three group of British supporters of the
reunified Fourth International , both includingBob Pennington andCharlie van Gelderen .In both cases, the Group was formed as a public faction by members loyal to the International who felt that at particular times the then-current leadership of the British section of the Fourth International had broken with its political continuity.
# By 1962, the group had formed around former members of theCPGB and SLL. # In 1965, the International Group was formed by split from the RSL. In 1969 the IG became the British section of the International, and changed its name to theInternational Marxist Group .
# In 1985, a group split from theInternational Marxist Group which also called itself the International Group. In1987 it merged with theSocialist Group and became theInternational Socialist Group , which became the British section of the International in 1989.References
