Israel i Bislamach Brigade (formerly the 772 Brigade, called Bislach, as of 2006 - the 828 Brigade), an abbreviation for the School for Infantry Corps Professions and Squad Commanders, is an IDF body responsible for the training of all the Infantry Corps squad commanders and platoon sergeants.The brigade, whose three bases are located in the
Negev , comprises three operative battalions (17th, 906th, and 450th), ordinarily used for training, and during wars or emergencies (such as during theYom Kippur War ) as fully operational combat force, or as reinforcements.Before
Operation Rainbow , during theAl-Aqsa Intifada , the brigade’s soldiers participated in searching thePhiladelphi Route for the bodies of the soldiers from theSayeret Yahalom , who were killed during thearmoured personnel carrier disaster ofMay 11 -12,2004 . They also took part in the Gaza disengagement plan, and afterwards, were the first to hold the border with theGaza Strip
