History

Pike County Central High School is the result of a consolidation, which brought together the former Johns Creek High School and Mullins High School in 1993.

Current principal, Mr. David Rowe, is the third in school history. In the 2007-2008 academic school year, Rowe took over for Eddie McCoy after he took over for Roger Johnson, who vacated the job to take a position within the Pike County Board of Education. Johnson was the PCCHS principal since the inaugural school year of 1993. Also in recent staff changes, the whole Men's basketball coaching staff was renovated as Mark Thompson became the new head coach. Clark "A.D." Damron was announced as "Monarch of Pike Central". The school also has a varsity academic team which has performed exceptionally well with the help of their new coach Sarah Moon. Also new to his position, Gary Fields Jr. was announced as the Head Girls Basketball coach. He replaced Stephen Butcher, who now coaches/teaches in Mason County, Kentucky. In 2007 Pike county central's high school soccer team won the 32nd district.
