Jeremiah Mason (Lebanon, Connecticut, April 27, 1768 - Boston, Massachusetts, October 14, 1848) was a United States Senator from New Hampshire. Born in Lebanon, Connecticut, son of Jeremiah Mason (Norwalk, Connecticut, February 22, 1729/1730 – Lebanon, Connecticut, April 16, 1813) and wife Elizabeth Fitch (Lebanon, Connecticut, June 28, 1731 – December 16, 1809), he graduated from Yale College in 1788, studied law, moved to Vermont, and was admitted to the bar in 1791. He moved to New Hampshire, practiced law, and was attorney general of New Hampshire from 1802 to 1805.

Mason was elected as a Federalist to the U.S. Senate to fill the vacancy in the term beginning March 4, 1813, and served from June 10, 1813, until June 16, 1817, when he resigned. He was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1820-1821 and 1824, and was president of the Portsmouth branch of the United States Bank in 1828-1829. He moved to Boston in 1832 and retired from the practice of law in 1838, but continued as chamber counsel up to the time of his death in Boston, 1848; interment was in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

He married on November 6, 1799 Mary Means (Amherst, New Hampshire, October 20, 1777 – April 12, 1858), daughter of Robert Means (Stewartstown, County Tyrone, Ireland, August 23, 1742 – Amherst, New Hampshire, January 24, 1823 [Daniel F. Secomb, "History of the Town of Amherst" (1883), p. 689] ) and wife (m. November 24, 1774) Mary McGregor (December 6, 1752 – January 14, 1838). They were the parents of Robert Means Mason (Portsmouth, New Hampshire, September 25, 1810 – Savannah, Georgia, March 13, 1879), who married on December 4, 1843 Sarah Ellen Francis (Massachusetts, May 17, 1819 – Dieppe, Seine-Maritime, September 27, 1865), daughter of Ebenezer Francis (Beverly, Massachusetts, October 15, 1775 – Boston, Massachusetts, September 21, 1858) and wife (m. Beverly, Massachusetts, November 3, 1799) Elizabeth Thorndike (Beverly, Massachusetts, July 8, 1778 – Boston, Massachusetts, June 24, 1853), and they were the parents of Elizabeth Mason (Massachusetts, October 1, 1844 – Boston, Massachusetts, April 22, 1924), who married on June 1, 1869 Robert Charles Winthrop, Jr. (Boston, Massachusetts, December 7, 1834 – Boston, Massachusetts, June 5, 1905), son of Robert Charles Winthrop and wife Elizabeth Cabot Blanchard. Mary Means was a sister of Elizabeth Means, wife of Jesse Appleton, son of Francis Appleton and wife Elizabeth Hubbard, parents of Jane Means Appleton, wife of Franklin Pierce (1804-1869), US President.
