Kadoorie family

The Kadoorie family (Arabic: خضوري) were originally Iraqi Jews from Baghdad who in the mid-eighteenth century migrated to Bombay India and later to British Hong Kong and Shanghai, China.

It includes a number of notable individuals:

* Sir Ellis Kadoorie (1865 - 1922), philanthropist and businessman
* Sir Elly Kadoorie (1867 - 1944), philanthropist and businessman
** Sir Lawrence Kadoorie, Baron Kadoorie (KBE (1899-1993) in Hong Kong) was a famous industrialist, hotelier, and philanthropist.
*** Sir Michael Kadoorie (b. 1941), a business executive, one of the world's foremost tycoons and philanthropists
** Sir Horace Kadoorie (1902 - 1995), industrialist, hotelier, and philanthropist
