AEK Athens FC 's youth academy, played for the team from 1980 until 1998. He made his debut in a match against Kastoria FC (1-1) on February 3, 1980 and became a mainstay in the AEK defensive until his 1998 retirement, in aMay 17 match againstSkoda Xanthi .During his career, Manolas won 4 championships and 3 Greek Cups, playing 451 games in the Greek league scoring 32 times. He was capped 67 times by the
Greece national football team , scoring 6 goals, and was a member of the1994 FIFA World Cup squad.After his playing days were over, Manolas coached the Greek under-21 team.
