anapsid reptile from thePermian period. It was about 2.5 m (8 ft 4 in) long."Pareiasaurus" was a large
quadruped withelephant ine legs, walking in a semi-erect posture. Its skull had several spine- andwart -like protrusions. "Pareiasaurus"'sleaf -shapedteeth , ideal for biting through toughplant fibers, indicate it was a herbivore. Even thepalate had teeth on it.Gallery
