Vicente Verdú (
Elche ,1942 ) is a Spanish writer, journalist and economist.He is a doctor in
Social Science by theUniversity of Paris and member of theNieman Foundation for Journalism at theHarvard University . He has been editor in chief of "Cuadernos para el Diálogo" and "Revista de Occidente", and chief of Collaborations, and Opinion and Culture inEl País , where he currently publishes a column every Friday and Saturday.In
1997 he was awarded the González-Ruano Prize of Journalism and theMiguel Delibes National Prize of Journalism for his article "La vista sorda", published in El País on30 October 1997 .Published books and essays
