Roger Boas

Roger Boas was the owner of a car dealership, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from 1962 to 1973, an unsuccessful candidate for Congress in 1972, Chief Administrative Officer of San Francisco from 1977 to 1986, and candidate for mayor of San Francisco in 1988 who was brought down by his patronage of underage prostitutes. According to the San Francisco Chronicle:

"Campaign posters of Boas dotted the city, and a prostitute recognized the face of a man who had been soliciting the ring for three years." Boas pled guilty on October 22, 1988, to seven counts of statutory rape involving teenage girls, with twelve more counts dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea. On November 19, 1988, he was fined $100,000 and sentenced to six months of community service, including picking up trash along freeways. Political career

While Supervisor in 1968, Boas was quoted by Time warning young people to stay out of the City:
