- Silencium universi
"Silencium universi" is a Latin term which means the silent universe (literally: the silence of the universe). It has appeared for the first time in the book written by
Stanislaw Lem in 1983. Lem has been disappointed about the huge investments which went into theSearch for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence program and has admitted that in spite of the best human efforts theuniverse remains silent.
