Matthew Allan Kemp (born August 8, 1980 in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia) is an Australian football (soccer) player who plays as a versatile midfielder. He currently plays for Melbourne Victory in the Hyundai A-League.

Club career

Kemp was signed by the AIS in 1998 but transferred the next season to Adelaide City who were then part of the now defunct NSL. After playing a season there he was signed by Italian side SPAL 1907. The next season he moved back to Australia were he returned to play for Adelaide City, before being signed by Adelaide United. He played for Adelaide in the A-League's first two seasons. It was announced on 11 April 2007 that he had signed a two year contract with Melbourne Victory.

Since leaving Adelaide, it was widely acknowledged that he had largely failed to reproduce the form that gained him the move to Victory. However, he was the Victory's standout player during their 2008 Asian Champions Leauge campaign where he benefited from his experience the year before in the same competition with Adelaide.
