Great Lakes Institute of Management (also known as Great Lakes or GL) is an Indian business school located in the South Indian city of Chennai (formerly Madras). Great Lakes Institute of Management is known for its 1 year Post Graduate Program in Management and a 2 year part-time Executive MBA program “Post-Graduate Global Executive Program in Management (PGXPM)”.

The institute was founded by Dr Bala V Balachandran in the year 2004. Dr Bala is a distinguished professor of Accounting & Information systems at Kellogg School of Management, Chicago, USA.

Objective

Great Lakes claims that it is built around a single theme that shapes all its strategies, policies and plans — which is called customer-centricity. Administration

The honorary Dean of Great Lakes Institute of Management is Dr Bala V Balachandran. The executive director is Prof. Sriram.

The Business Advisory Council is currently headed by Mr. Ratan Tata (Chairman, Tata Sons Ltd). Other members of the council include Mr. Kumaramangalam Birla (Chairman, Aditya Birla Group), Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy (Chief Mentor, Infosys) and Mr. Venu Srinivasan (CMD, TVS Motor Company).
