The stage play Armistice and Dedication Day was written by (then future) Academy Award winning songwriter, Robert B. Sherman. Sherman was only sixteen years of age when the play premiered in 1942 at the height of American involvement in the Second World War. The production yielded thousands of dollars worth in War Bonds earning Sherman a special citation from the War Department. The play premiered in Beverly Hills at the Beverly Hills High School theatre.
Plot/Theme
The plot centers around contemporary 1940s Americans, showing how their lives were inextricably changed following the December 7, 1941, attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor.
