Susan Jeanes

Susan Jeanes

Susan Barbara Jeanes (born February 24 1958) was an Australian Liberal Party Member of the House of Representatives for the Division of Kingston from 1996 to 1998. She won the seat from Gordon Bilney in the 1996 general election where the Liberal party took power from the Labour party. She was then defeated at the 1998 general election by David Cox.

In 2002 Susan Jeanes won preselection battle with Bob Such, the sitting member, for the Electoral district of Fisher. Such then ran for the electorate as an independent and defeated Jeanes.

After her political career ended she worked as an Advisor to the former Environment and Heritage Minister Robert Hill on climate change and energy policy. She was later appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Renewable Energy Generators of Australia (REGA) and is a Director of the Climate Institute.
