House L'Envers

In Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel's Legacy series, House L'Envers is one of the foremost noble families of Terre d'Ange. The seat of their is in Namarre, their colors are purple and gold, and their crest is a bridge over a fiery river. Violet eyes are a trait typical to members of the House as well as blonde hair.

Barquiel L'Envers: brother of Isabel, reigning Duc of Namarre and head of House L'Envers.

Valere L'Envers: daughter of Barquiel, whom he weds to Sinaddan-Shamabarsin, the son of the Khalif of Khebbel-im-Akkad in Kushiel's Dart.

Isabel L'Envers de la Courcel is the deceased wife of Rolande de la Courcel, she gave birth to one daughter, Ysandre, before being killed by Dominic and Thérèse de la Courcel Stregazza. She was accused by Anafiel Delaunay of murdering Prince Rolande's first betrothed, Edmeé de Rocaille, but never faced justice for this accusation. Ysandre, however, admits privately to Phèdre nó Delaunay that her mother did kill her.

Ysandre de la Courcel: daughter of Isabel and dauphine to the royal throne.

Nicola L'Envers y Aragon: cousin of Ysandre and Barquiel, married to a kinsman of the King of Aragonia. Though her husband is of the royal family, he is a drunkard who has spent all his assets though in some way still lives in good regard. Nicola, however, refused to divorce him when asked by Marmion Shahrizai. Received the Lover's Token from Phèdre nó Delaunay.

Serafin Aragon: son of Nicola and member of the royal house of Aragonia. He shows much promise for hopes of the regency, no thanks to his father.
