Galway North East is a former parliamentary
constituency in Ireland, which was represented inDáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish parliament orOireachtas . Covering the northern part ofCounty Galway , it existed from 1969–1977. It elected three Teachtaí Dála (TDs) to the Dáil, using theSingle Transferable Vote method ofproportional representation (PR-STV).Boundaries
It comprised the administrative county of Galway, except the parts thereof which were comprised in the constituencies of Clare-Galway South and Galway West, and a small part of

The constituency was created in 1969, under the
Electoral (Amendment) Act 1969 , for the 1969 general election to Dáil Éireann. It was abolished under theElectoral (Amendment) Act 1974 .ee also
