Bologna F.C. 1909 in 1999/2000. He played for Bologna until 2004/2005, except a short one-season parenthesis forHellas Verona F.C. in 2002/2003, before to move to Fiorentina in 2005, after Bologna relegated toSerie B .Gamberini started in his debut with the
Italy national football team in a 2-0 friendly win against South Africa onOctober 17 ,2007 . He was not included in the original Italian squad forEuro 2008 but was called up after captainFabio Cannavaro tore ankle ligaments after a collision with teammateGiorgio Chiellini in training on2 June . Although he is unlikely to act as a first-team regular at Euro 2008, he may have a chance to prove himself and earn a first team football for the Azzurri.
