Rahmoc Enterprises is a registered Florida Corporation, now currently operating in Concord, North Carolina. It was incorporated in 1977 by Bob Rahilly and Butch Mock in N. Miami, Florida. Rahilly and Mock were 50/50 shareholders in the corporation. Rahmoc operated as a for-profit business from 1977 to 1992 in NASCAR Auto Racing, and as a racing engine supplier. In 1993, after competing in more than 350 NASCAR Cup and Busch events, Bob Rahilly decided to end his career as a team owner. He and Mock mutually agreed to a split that left Rahilly with sole ownership of Rahmoc Ent. and the whole complex in Concord, North Carolina. Mock went on to form a new corporation of his own, Butch Mock Motorsports, based in Mooresville, NC. Rahmoc still exists today as a Racing Engine building company, employing Dick and Bob Rahilly, and three others.
1978-1992
Rahmoc Enterprises made its debut as a NASCAR Team in October 1978 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, with Butch Mock driving. Mock also drove later that year at Atlanta, and in the 1979 Daytona 500, his last race as a driver for the team. Rahmoc had several drivers through 1979 and 1980 as it was developing as a team. 1981 brought Rahmoc's first full-time professional driver, Joe Millikan. Rahmoc's first full-time first sponsor, PET Dairy would arrive in 1982 with Joe Ruttman driving. The team's success in 1982 caught the attention of Neil Bonnet and Warner Hodgdon. Hodgdon's National Engineering Co. agreed to sponsor the team and Bonnett for the 1983 season. The team won its first two events, the Busch Clash and the Gatorade 125 at Daytona. These were the first wins for Chevrolet's Monte Carlo, and the team would go on to win the World 600 at Charlotte, and the Atlanta 500. Bonnett finished 4th in points that year. Dave Marcis drove for the team, un-sponsored in 1984, finishing 14th in points. 1985 brought Lake Speed, and a stunning 2nd-place finish in the Daytona 500. This event brought the attention of Nationwise Auto Parts, who agreed to sponsor the team for two years. Bonnett returned in 1987 with Valvoline and had a strong start until a devastating wreck at Charlotte, resulting in a hip injury, effectively ended his season. Morgan Shepherd drove in Bonnett's absence. Bonnett returned in 1988 and picked up where he left off in 1983, with a 4th at Daytona, and wins in Richmond, Australia, and at Rockingham to start off the year. But again health issues, gall bladder problems, took Bonnett to the sidelines. Shepherd again was the substitute. 1989 brought Shepherd as the full-time driver with Valvoline as sponsor. A win in Australia, pole positions at Pocono and Watkins Glen, second at Daytona and many top-ten finishes capped the season. 1990 brought Rick Wilson and Dinner Bell Meats as sponsor. Sponsor bankruptcy at mid-season severely stressed the team, and they released Wilson after 4 top-ten finishes. 1991 brought another re-uniting with a former driver, Joe Ruttman, and Dinner Bell returned as a sponsor with new ownership. A third-place finish in the season opening Daytona 500 was Ruttman's best finish, and he finished 20th in points. Without sponsorship for 1992, Rahmoc entered the Daytona 500 with Dick Trickle. The resulting 5th-place finish would be Rahmoc's last race.
