Kokkari is a village on
Samos Island ,Greece , about 10 km from the capital city Vathy.Description
Kokkari is the most
picturesque fishing harbour ofSamos Island , which has now developed into a large tourist center. Kokkari is on a smallpeninsula full of houses which climbs up to the top of the hill with a small harbour on one side and a superb sand beach on the other.Near Kokkari are several villages like Platanakia, Valeodates, Staurinides as well as many others, which are all connected with streets or small paths.
Travelling from one village to the other, the visitor can enjoy the natural beauty of the island and the unique view that the height provides.
Beaches
In the area there are two of the most dazzling, small, lush
cove s on Samos with marvellous sand beaches, Lemonakia beach and Tsamadou bay."Tsamadou Beach" is a pebble beach located about 3 km from Kokkari. There are a couple of taverns near the beach and a small snack bar. Amenities such as sunbeds and umbrellas are available as well as showers and a couple of small dressing rooms.
