- Bisco Hatori
is a Japanese manga artist. Bisco Hatori is a
pseudonym ; she states that the name has special meaning to her. She has worked for such magazines as "LaLa ". Her manga debut was "A Moment of Romance" in "LaLa DX". Her first series was "Millennium Snow ". However, the comedy "Ouran High School Host Club " is her breakout hit.According to author notes in "Ouran High School Host Club", when she's stuck thinking up names for her characters, she is inspired by loud, upbeat music (her radio is set to
NACK5 FM ). She loves reading all kinds of manga, and was especially influenced by "Please Save My Earth ", a classicshōjo science fiction series, and the basketball classic "Slam Dunk". She also notes that she has a voice fettish. Her mother told her that she inherited this from her, and goes on to tell her whose voices she loves the most. Her comics of herself portray her as disorganized, and she frequently loses or makes no reference (the school had no set layout). She also is usually behind on her deadlines. She is helped by three assistants (one is called Ai), one of which usually (Yui) assists her in organization and draws all the scenes into a map to help the anime staff. Her assistants end up staying over on the last week of her deadline as she is prone to nearly missing it. She is also shown as a perpetually nervous person.Works
