September 1 ,2006 , the Indians announced they will no longer be affiliated with the Appalachian League's Burlington Indians, thus making the Gulf Coast Indians the primary club for developing high-school draftees and international players, with the more advanced rookies playing in Mahoning Valley.With the announcement of the big league club moving their spring training headquarters from Winter Haven to
