- Yehoshua Saguy
Major General Yehoshua Saguy was Director of Aman from
1979 to1983 . He was born 27 September 1933 inJerusalem , then part of theBritish Mandate of Palestine . He entered the Israeli Defense Forces in 1951. From 1953 to 1954 he served in the Southern Command, fulfilling field duties. During the Suez War, he served as intelligence officer of the Armored Corps and as commander of a reconnaissance unit. Following the 1956 War, he served as an intelligence officer with the 7th Brigade, and later an assistance intelligence officer. During the 1960s, he would served in various posts in Israeli military intelligence. On May 1974, he was appointed Deputy Director of Military Intelligence, and on February 1979 he assumed the Directorship of Military Intelligence. He was fired from his post by the recommendation of theKahan Commission , which had determined that he was guilty of indifference during massacres at Palestinian refugee camps in Israeli occupiedLebanon .References
