Baní is a capital town of the Peravia Province, Dominican Republic. It is located at around coord|18|17|N|70|20|W |region:DO_type:city. It is the commercial and manufacturing center in a region producing bananas and coffee.

Overview

Its culture and customs were portrayed on the novel Bani o Engracia y Anto-ita wrote by Francisco Gregorio Billini. The local beach is Playa Los Almendros (Almendros Beach) is the local beach, situated 6 km (3.72 miles) to the south of the center square. The town's original design follows the classic Spanish square, with a park in the center of the town surrounded by the Local church and the local government (mayor's office).

The city's Patron Saint patron is Nuestra Senora de Regla whose celebration is on November 21 each year.

Bani is surrounded by many smaller townns, many with particular identities, such as: Paya is well known around the country for it's milk base candies the most famous one the Dulce de Leche (milk candy), Salinas is famous for its Sand Dunes the only ones in the Caribbean.
