Terrence L. O'Brien (born
August 8 ,1943 inLincoln, Nebraska ) is afederal judge on theUnited States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit . He was nominated to the Tenth Circuit by PresidentGeorge W. Bush onSeptember 4 ,2001 and was confirmed by theUnited States Senate by a vote of [http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=107&session=2&vote=00068 98-0] onApril 15 ,2002 . He replaced JudgeWade Brorby , who assumedSenior status .O'Brien received a
B.S. and aJ.D. from theUniversity of Wyoming . He served in theU.S. Army for three years in between his undergraduate and legal studies. Prior to his appointment to the Tenth Circuit, O'Brien had a long career both in private practice and public service. He worked as a staff attorney in theU.S. Department of Justice from 1972-1974 and as aWyoming state district judge from 1980-2000.
