Lower caption = 2005 re-released artwork"Petitioning the Empty Sky" is the second full length release by
Massachusetts band Converge. It was their first CD to be released byEqual Vision Records . The CD was re-released in aremaster ed format and with new artwork byAaron Turner of ISIS fame, and abonus track in 2005.Tracks nine through eleven - For You, Antithesis, and Homesong - were recorded live during a performance on radio station WJUL, run by college students at
UMass Lowell .A notable moment on one of the live tracks is when a band member hits his head on a
microphone stand. The original CD release on Ferret Records features a hidden, untitled song at the end of "Antithesis", which is actually "Homesong" contrary to the tracklist. Although the obvious conclusion would be that it is the two aforementioned songs put together on one track, that is not true. The hidden song is an additional song.
