Sonu Walia

Sonu Walia (b. 19 February, 1964) is a Bollywood actress who has acted in films such as Khoon Bhari Maang. She was a daughter of an Indian Army officer.She won the Miss India contest in 1985 and went on to compete in Miss Universe 1985. She took over from Juhi Chawla, Miss India 1984, and after completing her responsibilities, she relinquished her crown to Mehr Jesia in 1986. She also won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for Khoon Bhari Maang with Rekha and Kabir Bedi in year 1988. She also acted in a TV serial called Betaal Pachisi along with Tom Alter, Shahbaz Khan. She was also famous for having an affair with Kabir Bedi.

A psychology graduate and a student of journalism, Sonu Walia took up modelling before she entered the Miss India contest. She is 5'7" tall. She is cusp-born (Aquarian/Pisces), born in a Punjabi-speaking family in Delhi. Unable to shake off the glamour tag, she was unable to land meaty roles, met U.S.-based Prakash Sharma, and ended up getting married to him during 1995 in a quiet ceremony in Pune.She has one daughter & a son.
