Bob "Slim" Dunlap (born
August 14 ,1951 ) is an Americanmusician . He is a Minnesota-based guitarist and singer-songwriter who is best known for replacingThe Replacements ' original lead guitarist,Bob Stinson . Dunlap joined the band in1987 , after the release of the album "Pleased to Meet Me ". Dunlap played lead guitar for the Replacements until they broke up in the summer of1991 . His earlier career included work with Curtis Almsted's punk band The Spooks beginning in 1978. Curtis Almsted is also known for his work inCurtiss A . Dunlap contributed to all but one of the Spooks' albums. Since the Replacements broke up he has kept a relatively low profile, but he has remained active on the localMinneapolis-Saint Paul music scene, and aided formerGeorgia Satellites singer-guitaristDan Baird on tour for Baird's album, "Love Songs for the Hearing Impaired." He has released some solo material, including two albums, " The Old New Me" in 1993 and "Times Like This" in 1996.External links
