Genevieve Nnaji (born May 03, 1979) is a popular Nollywood actress.

Career

Nnaji found mainstream Nollywood success in 1998. Despite her popularity as an actress, she has consistently added accolades, such as singer, producer and fashion designer to her name. In 2004 she became the face of "Lux" soap in a highly lucrative sponsorship deal. Among other actors and actresses, she released her first album, titled "No More", in 2005, following a one year acting ban. Three years later in May, Nnaji launched her clothing line "St. Genevieve" which was a huge success as the simple, yet elegant easy-wear clothes were a hit with the public.

Personal life

Nnaji has been in a relationship with fellow movie star Ramsey Nouah, with whom she has appeared in several films. Rumours began to spread about their realtionship in 2004, but it was not until January 2005 that they publicly announced their relationship. Both being publicity-shy, they remained discreet about it for several months. In 2007, rumours began to circulate that the two had married in Madagascar, but these speculations were later closed by Nanji herself, saying ..."we haven't even got engaged yet". Similarly, when Nouah was asked about the subject in late July 2007, Nouah simply replied: "Time will tell".

Since then there have been many speculations as to when they will eventually marry. It has been said that Nanji has introduced Nouah to her parents and grandparents in Lagos, and that Nanji's mother cannot wait for grandchildren and has already asked for Nouah to hurry up and take her daughter to the altar.

When asked about the couple, close friend Richard Mofe Damijo stated that they were one of a kind, and knew that one day they definitely will get married.
