Pensioners Party (England)
- Pensioners Party (England)
The Pensioners Party is a political party operating in England and registered with the Electoral Commission. As of May 2006, it is accepting nominations from suitable individuals to stand as candidates in future elections.
According to its [http://www.thepensionersparty.org website] , the Pensioners Party is independent of all other parties, and has no affiliations. An equally independent Pensioners Party (with similar views) exists in Scotland. It is not a single-issue party; it describes its main concern as being:
* representing the views of pensioners and potential pensioners.
* getting a better deal for pensioners throughout England.
* helping to make a better future for everyone.
The name was previously used by a candidate who stood in Gosport in the 1992 general election, although there is no evidence of a link. [http://www.election.demon.co.uk/1983EB.html]
