Sogn og Fjordane county,Norway . It was part of the traditional district ofSunnfjord . The administrative center of Bru was the village of Stavang. The municipality was made up of parts of the mainland along with several islands including Svanøy,Askrova , and Stavøy.History
Bru was established as a municipality on
1 January 1923 when it was separated fromKinn . 1 January 1964 , a merger took place between the municipalities of Bru, Kinn, andEikefjord , and the town ofFlorø to form the new municipality of Flora. At the same time, the area south of theFørdefjorden , with 92 inhabitants, was transferred to the municipality ofAskvoll . Before the merger Bru had a population of 1,247.References
