Flosta

Flosta

Flosta is a former municipality in Aust-Agder county, Norway.

Originally, from 1837, Flosta was a part of Dypvåg formannskapsdistrikt, but on January 1 1902 Flosta was separated from Dypvåg, forming a municipality of its own with 1,892 inhabitants.

On January 1 1962 a merger took place between the municipalities of Stokken, Austre Moland and Flosta as well as Strengereid district in Tvedestrand, creating the new municipality Moland. Before the merger Flosta had a population of 1,205.
