Next to the lake is the Washington Park Lakehouse and anamphitheater where the Park Playhouse performs musicals in the summer. Awrought-iron pedestrian bridge spans the lake at its narrowest point. Washington Park was inspired in the late nineteenth century byCalvert Vaux andFrederick Law Olmsted , the architects ofManhattan 'sCentral Park .
