Steve Davis andJimmy White failed to qualify for the 2001 championship for the first time in their careers. Davis lost toAndy Hicks 10-6 and White lost toMichael Judge 10-7. Davis' first appearance was in 1979 and White's was in 1981.*
Patrick Wallace reached the quarter-finals of the championship at his first attempt, and has never since qualified for the Crucible.Results
