Ko is a midfielder for Korean sideDaejeon Citizen , and formerly played forSuwon Samsung Bluewings ,Kyoto Purple Sanga , andChunnam Dragons . He rose to stardom during the1998 World Cup , along withLee Dong-Guk , andAhn Jung-Hwan .
