Kancherla paleam

"Kancherla palem" , is a significant village in Andhra Pradesh, India. It has a long history and many famous Chukkapallis come form this village

The people of Kancherla palem are more prominent ,not only in guntur, But in whole Andhra Pradesh. One eminent personality was "Chukkapalli Jogaiah" who was the number one business man in Andhra Pradesh in early 1890s to 1900's. The first domestic bomb in india was made in kancharla palem by chokka rao, [cite book |title=The Freedom Struggle in Andhra Pradesh |last=Venkatarangaiya |first=Mamidipudi |year=1965 |publisher=Andhra Pradesh State Committee Appointed for the Compilation of a History of the Freedom Struggle in Andhra Pradesh |pages=p. 62 ] He plotted that bomb to kill chukkapalli jogaiah. But Jogaiah survived that bombing but the incident became very famous and chokka rao was arrested by British government. In later days This bomb case became a part of History chapter for the degree students. Chukkapalli Jogaiah's son "chukkapalli venkat satyanarayana" was a prominent Indian freedom fighter and close friend to "Kalluri chandra mouli" and "Venegalla Satayanarayana". He was the holder of the amarpatra. He represented the southern Indian freedom fighter association meeting held in AhamadaBad, Nagpur and in Delhi.He strived for Indian freedom under the Gandhi views. He was one of the few people in india who inaugurated a Gandhi statue in 1948. He died in his 90's in 2000 December 31st.
