Fay Elinora Lanphier (
12 December ,1905 –June 21 ,1959 ) [California Death Index] was a model most noted for becomingMiss California in 1924 andMiss America in 1925. She was also the 1925 Rose Queen. To date, she is the only person to hold both titles at the same time.She was born in
El Dorado, California , the eldest child of Percival Caspar Lanphier and Emily Elenora Olson, with five other siblings coming after her. [1920 US Federal Census]She married first to a Mr. Spiegle, associated with the Spiegle catalog company, and secondly to Winfield Daniels in 1931, producing two daughters. She lived in
Orinda, California until her sudden death at age 53.Before she was Miss California, she was Miss Santa Cruz (1924).
